1. I registered but never received a confirmation email! What should I do?

Once you have registered with EquestrianSingles.com, you will receive an email with your login details. If you do not receive an email, this may be due to your email provider’s anti-spam filter. Most email providers routinely employ anti-spam software to protect you from unwanted or malicious software emails.

First, determine if this is the problem:

  1. Check your spam or junk email folder for an email from info@equestriansingles.com
  2. If found, move the email to your Inbox
  3. Add info@equestriansingles.com to your address book and approved sender list within your email client

If you did not find an email in your spam or junk folder, and/or these steps do not correct the problem, please contact us at support@equestriansingles.com.

2. How do my username and password work?

User names are automatically generated to make registration fast and easy for you. User names are unique and cannot be changed, but you can change your password.

Note: Passwords must be at least 6 characters long. You may change your password as often as you like.

If you have forgotten your password, you will need to reset it using the following steps. If you know your password and want to change it, use the change your password steps.

Reset a forgotten password using these steps:

  1. Go to the LOGIN page
  2. Click FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Click SUBMIT
  5. You will receive an email that contains a link to reset your password

4. How can I change my password?

To change your password, you must already be logged in with your current password. Follow these steps to change your password:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon in the top left of your screen
  3. Click SETTINGS from the drop down menu
  4. Click CHANGE PASSWORD
  5. Enter your new password
  6. Enter your new password again to confirm
  7. Click SAVE

If you have received an incorrect password message, there are several reasons that may have caused this. Here are some troubleshooting options.

To change your email address:

  1. Login to your account

7. How can I cancel or delete my account?

To cancel/delete your account with EquestrianSingles.com:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon in the top left of your screen
  3. Click SETTINGS from the drop down menu
  4. Click REMOVE PROFILE
  5. Enter a reason as to why you are removing your profile.
  6. Click REMOVE

If you are currently a paid subscriber and delete your account completely before your paid time expires, you forfeit the remaining time you have as a paid member. Pro-rated refunds will not be given.

8. Can I reactivate an account I deleted?

Depending on how long it has been since you cancelled your account, it can be reactivated (See also, What happens when I delete my account.) To determine if reactivation is possible:

  1. Login using your last email and password
  2. If we are able to recover your deleted profile, we will send you an email to confirm
  3. Once you confirm via email, your account will be reactivated

Please note that this recovered profile will not have any paid time on it and it may or may not have some or all of your message history.

2. How do I navigate the site?

Where do I find the main menu?

This is the main menu bar is at the top of your screen.

There are four tabs within the Likes Me Feature: Likes Me, I Like, Blocked, and Hidden. The following icons allow you to do the following:

Orange StarBlue StarThis is a toggle button that allows you to like someone. It toggles between a orange and a blue star. A blue star means you have liked someone. A orange star means you have not liked them.

Block IconMembers that you block or hide will be added to the Blocked or Hidden tab. If you want to unblock or unhide them, go to the Blocked or Hidden tab and click on this button next to their profile.

Heart IconA heart means that you and the other person have both liked each other!

More OptionsGives you the additional options to Chat, Block, or Hide the member. It’s a toggle button, so clicking on it will also close the optional menu that is presented when you click on it.

3. How do I login?

If you have registered with EquestrianSingles.com and received your username, there are two login options:

Option 1:

This is the easiest and most direct route to login if you have already registered with EquestrianSingles.com.

  1. Go directly to the LOGIN page
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. Click SUBMIT

The home page is primarily for registering with EquestrianSingles.com. However, you can login from the HOME page. If you are already registered, use the SIGN IN page to login. Here’s how:

4. How can I create or update my profile?

Your profile is where you can set and/or update/change information about yourself such as your age, gender, location, religion, education, gender preferences, and other details you would like for potential members to know about you.

Your profile is very important to a successful experience at EquestrianSingles.com. Think of it as a first date. It is how you get to know another member on EquestrianSingles.com to decide if you want that second date! The secret to success is to be yourself!

The key to a meaningful and successful relationship is to be open and honest. Building a EquestrianSingles.com profile that is an honest and accurate depiction of yourself is the best way to start a meaningful and successful relationship in online dating. You should provide an overview of yourself--your lifestyle, your goals, your hobbies, and what you are looking for in a relationship.

Including a photo on your profile is important! We cannot emphasize enough how important good, easy to see, appealing photos are to your success in online dating. Uploading a photo increases your chances of receiving a connection by 30-40 times. And that’s no exaggeration! If you upload more than one photo, you are even more likely to attract someone’s attention.

Do not wait to do this later. An empty profile will not get you that second date. The sooner you complete your profile, the sooner you’ll be connecting with that perfect someone! To create your profile:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Hover over your profile thumbnail and click MY PROFILE
  3. Click EDIT on the fields you want to add or change
  4. Complete the information in each section and SAVE

5. How can I add and delete photos?

Standard members can add one photo to their profile. Premium members can add multiple photos. There are guidelines for the type of photos that are allowed on the site. Profiles with a photo get much more attention than incomplete profiles, so when adding photos, it is important to know the reasons why they can be denied.

Only you can see your photos until they are approved. All photos are reviewed and approved by EquestrianSingles.com before others can see them.

Immediately after your photos are uploaded they are placed in a queue for approval. We try to approve photos immediately. When the site gets busy, it may take several hours. While your photo is pending approval, only you can see it. We appreciate your patience during this process.

Rejected photos are removed from the site. If you have a particularly inappropriate photo, we may shut down your account immediately. In accordance with our terms service, these actions will be taken without notice or refund.

To add photos to your profile:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU on the top left of your screen
  3. Click PHOTOS
  4. Click PICK YOUR PHOTO or UPLOAD FROM FACEBOOK
  5. If you choose Pick Your Photo, you will be directed to your computer to select pictures from your hard drive
  6. If you choose Facebook, you will be asked to login and confirm your Facebook account
  7. Select a photo
  8. Click SAVE

Photos are instantly uploaded to your profile once you have saved your selected photo.

To remove photos:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU on the top left of your screen
  3. Click PHOTOS
  4. Click the X in the top right of the photo you want to delete

Photos are instantly removed from your profile once you have completed the removal steps.

6. What types of photos are permitted?

We do not allow the following types of photos on the site: nudity; lewdness; vulgarity; clipart; graphics; drawings; landscape images; photos of children without the profile member; photos that are so dark that we cannot see you; photos that are so fuzzy that we cannot see you; photos that include any attempt to communicate your contact info, place of business, or any other information meant to circumvent our policies; and/or photos of anything besides you may only be posted as secondary photos, not your main profile photo. We may delete, switch, or otherwise alter your photo if it does not comply. In accordance with our terms of service, violation of this policy may result in removal of a photo, and may result in permanent removal of your profile. These actions will be taken without notice and without refund.

7. How do I connect with other members?

To connect with other members and find your perfect match:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon in the top left of your screen
  3. Click SEARCH PROFILES from the drop down menu

Member profile pictures will then be displayed based on the settings in your profile. These settings will be displayed in the light blue bar at the top of search page. You can change these search settings using the ADVANCED SEARCH FILTER feature.

You can scroll through the member profiles and start connecting with those you like by sending them flirts and messages.

Note: If member’s user name is not bolded and cannot be clicked on if:

  1. The member has temporarily hidden his/her profile, or
  2. The member has removed his/her profile permanently.

8. How can I find new members to connect with?

The Discover Feature is a quick and easy way to review photos and profiles of active members who are in your target age range. You tell us whether you like or dislike the member, and then you move on to the next profile photo. You can view the member’s entire profile by clicking on VIEW PROFILE above their photo.

Simply like or dislike the photo by clicking on the STAR icon for like, or the X icon for dislike. You will be presented with the next photo.

When you like a photo, the person whom you liked is informed of that like so that he/she can decide whether to like you back. If the person whose photo you like also likes your photo, then we inform both of you so that you can connect on the site.

If you dislike a photo, nothing happens. You simply move on the next profile. Don’t worry! The person you have disliked will not know that you disliked his/her photo/profile. You will receive an email notification that someone has liked you, and the member will be added to your “Likes Me” folder.

Access your Likes Me folder following these steps:

  1. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon in the top left of your screen
  2. Click LIKES ME

This folder will show you who liked you, and you will also see tabs that list members you have liked, blocked, and hidden.

Star IconA star next to a member’s profile indicates that you have liked them. It does not mean someone has liked you. You must go to the Likes Me tab to see who has liked you.

Heart IconA heart next to a member’s profile indicates that you have both liked each other.

To discover members that are located further away than your current location criteria, simply change your location preferences on your profile.

If you accidently dislike someone, no worries, just follow these steps to re-like the member:

  1. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon at the top left of your screen
  2. Click LIKES ME
  3. Click the DISLIKED tab
  4. Remove that person from the list

Once you go to your “Like Me” list, you will also see tabs that list whom you have liked and disliked. So you can go back and review what you’ve done and also change your like/dislikes.

9. How can I change my search settings?

To temporarily change your search settings while you are in the search mode:

  1. Click the ADVANCED SEARCH FILTER icon at the far right of the blue bar
  2. Choose new settings
  3. Click SEARCH

Note: Making adjustments to settings using this feature will not change the settings in your profile.

10. How can I search for members closer to me?

To search for members near you, change your search settings using the ADVANCED SEARCH FILTER feature.

11. What is a flirt and how do I send one?

Once you find some members who interest you, view their profiles and send them flirts.

To send a flirt:

  1. Search candidate profiles
  2. Click on the FLIRT icon at the bottom right of the member’s profile picture
  3. When you click on FLIRT, you’ll get a drop down menu with the following list of flirt messages. Select one and your flirt will be on its way! And feel free to send us suggestions for more flirts.

When you send a flirt, EquestrianSingles.com sends an email to that member’s personal email address (for example, their Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc) notifying them they have a flirt, and includes a link back to the site so that the recipient can quickly access their inbox on EquestrianSingles.com to read your flirt.

Sending flirts is an easy way to test if someone is also interested in you. They may flirt back. However, the best way to get someone to respond is by upgrading and sending a message. This way that person can get to know you. It is important to send out a lot of flirts, messages, and to cast a wide net. Then log back in regularly to see responses and look for more members.

Don’t worry if someone you like has not been online for a while. Send them a flirt anyway. Anyone with a profile on the site wants to be contacted, even if their status indicates they have not been online in a few months. We find that new members who email members that haven’t been online in a while get the attention of those members. You’d be surprised how many success stories happen exactly this way! It’s definitely worth a shot. If a member was not interested in hearing from you, he/she would remove his profile.

If you’re a woman not used to making the initial contact, don’t worry! In the world of online dating, initiating happens both ways. Isn’t that what flirting is all about? Sending a flirt is a harmless and low risk way of getting someone’s attention. You can pick a flirt message that feels appropriate. A flirt is just a way to get the ball rolling.

12. How do I initiate a conversation?

Once you find a member you’d like to meet, you can initiate a chat with them.

To start a chat:

  1. Search candidate profiles
  2. Click on the CHAT icon at the bottom right of the members profile picture
  3. When you click on the CHAT icon, you’ll be able to type a message and send it to the member.

When you send a chat to a member that is online, EquestrianSingles.com sends an immediate (real time) email notification to that member’s personal email address (for example, their Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc) notifying them they have an invite to chat. And if the person is already online he/she will receive a push notification online. The member can choose to click on the notification and respond to your chat message. If the member responds, you will get a real time notification in order to continue the conversation via your messaging Inbox.

13. How do I send and receive messages?

Only premium members can send a message to another member. Standard members who receive personal messages from a premium member will receive a notification and a link to the premium sender’s profile. Standard members must upgrade in order to read the message, but don’t let that discourage you from sending a message to a standard member. The vast majority of standard members do upgrade. So it is always worth sending a message. The standard member will receive an immediate notification of your message and that you are a premium member, and she/he will likely upgrade.

To access your message Inbox and send a message:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the MAIL icon at the top right of the screen
  3. Click INBOX
  4. Click COMPOSE MESSAGE
  5. Type your message
  6. Click SEND

To read and reply to a message:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the MAIL icon at the top right of the screen
  3. Click INBOX
  4. Click the message you want to read
  5. Type your message
  6. Click SEND

14. How do I check the status of my messages?

If your message has been sent, it will appear in your Outbox. To view your Outbox:

  1. Click on the MAIL icon at the top right of the screen
  2. Click the OUTBOX tab

To tell if your message has been read. You can only tell if messages to premium members have been read. In your Outbox, you will see an envelope next to each message you have sent. The white envelope indicates your message has not been read. If the mail has been read, the envelope disappears.

Flirts (messages) to standard members are not opened on the site. Standard members receive a notification from us sent to their personal inboxes (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc). So these messages will always have the envelope next to them.

An arrow to the left of a message indicates that you have already replied to the most recent message you received from that member.

15. Where can I find older messages?

All of the messages you exchange with a member on the site show up together as one conversation. So you can see the entire back and forth conversation with that member all in one place. We do not delete any messages from your inbox. Only you can do that.

When you get to the bottom of a conversation on the page and want to see older messages, look for the button that says SHOW OLDER MESSAGES. When you click on that, you will see older messages exchanged with that member.

16. How can I block/unblock a member?

To block and/or report a member who has sent you a message, follow these steps:

  1. Open the message you received
  2. Click the MORE OPTIONS icon on the top right of your Inbox
  3. Click the BLOCK

To unblock this member, follow these steps:

  1. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon at the top left of your screen
  2. Click LIKES ME
  3. Click BLOCKED
  4. Click the BLOCKED icon next to the member you want to unblock
  5. CONFIRM you want to unblock and press OK on the popup

To block someone before they message you:

  1. Click on their profile image
  2. Click MORE
  3. Click BLOCK from the drop down menu

17. How do I adjust my notifications settings?

You can choose to receive notifications when a member sends you a flirt or message.

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click the NAVIGATION MENU icon in the top left of your screen
  3. Click SETTINGS from the drop down menu
  4. Click check boxes for the notification settings you prefer and SAVE

You can choose from the following notification settings:

  • Turn on or off Notifications
  • Notify when new members like your profile
  • Notify you of new matches
  • Notify you when someone sends you a message
  • Notify you when new members view your profile
  • Notify you when there are new profiles for you to discover
  • Notify you when you have unread messages
  • Send you suggested matches

If you set notifications, but do not receive any email notifications, you should review your email preference settings. If this does not correct the problem, submit a support ticket.

18. How do I hide/unhide my profile?

To hide or unhide your profile:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Hover over your profile thumbnail and click SETTINGS
  3. Click HIDE PROFILE or UNHIDE PROFILE
  4. Confirm your selection by pressing the next HIDE or UNHIDE

When you hide your profile, it will become hidden from any searches and will not display on the DISCOVER page. All other functionality remains unchanged. Your profile remains hidden until you unhide your profile.

1. How do I correct my city/town in my profile?

When you entered your zip code when you created your profile, the EquestrianSingles.com system may have automatically inserted a city/town from our database. You will need to update your location in your profile.

This is easy to fix by updating your gender preference on your profile.

3. Why was my profile or part of my profile rejected?

When you submit your profile, our staff always reviews it. Profiles must comply with our terms of service. It is essential that your profile not contain any of the following: profanity; inappropriate content (e.g. pornographic content), personal contact information, attempts to communicate with members via your profile; comments on your membership status; disparaging comments about anyone; and/or information to contact you off the site.

When new profiles or changed profiles are rejected, we might send you an email explaining why. You will need to update/correct your profile in accordance with our terms of service. However, in some instances, at our discretion and without warning, we may ban you from the site for violation of our terms of service.

4. Why is it telling me my password is incorrect?

There are several reasons you may receive an incorrect password message. Here are some things to check:

  • Password typed incorrectly. Retype the password to make sure there were no typos.
  • If you have recently changed your password, your browser may be automatically inserting an old password. Check your browser settings to disable your auto-fill settings if enabled.
  • You may have to reset your password.

If you still cannot login, please submit a support ticket.

5. How can I disable the auto-filling I see happening in my browser?

Auto-fill is a feature found in some browsers that fills out online forms such as shipping or billing information. The steps to disable (or enable) are unique to each browser. Thus, we cannot give complete instructions for disabling this feature. It is best if you search for instructions specific to your browser. For example, type the following into your search engine: how to disable auto-fill settings for chrome (insert your browser name instead of chrome). Then, follow the instructions given for your browser.

1. What are the membership plan options?

Standard (Free)

As a standard member, you can create a profile, browse through our database of member profiles, use search options, send flirts to members, and receive flirt notifications from other members. This membership level allows you to “test the waters” to determine if you are interested in other members and if other members are interested in you. If you want to take a flirt to the next level and exchange contact information, you will need to upgrade to the premium membership.

Premium (Paid Subscription)

With premium membership, in addition to what you can do as a standard member, you can also send and receive unlimited personalized emails to and from other premium members, post unlimited photos, see the online status and last visit date of other members, know who visited your profile, block members from contacting you, and exchange contact information.

2. How do I pay for premium privileges?

To upgrade and pay for premium membership:

  1. Login to your account
  2. Click UPGRADE
  3. Premium membership options to choose will be displayed
  4. Select the membership plan and submit payment details

Credit card charges will appear on your credit card statement as: “EquestrianSingles.com”.

Once you have paid, your account is immediately activated, and your subscription period starts immediately.

3. What type of payment do you accept?

There are two ways to pay for your premium membership: credit (or debit, etc.) payment cards or money orders.

4. What cards do you accept?

Credit, debit, prepaid and gift cards are ALL accepted as long as they are issued by Visa, Mastercard or Discover. At this time, we do not accept American Express. If you are using a prepaid or gift card, remember that you may have to activate it first with the company who issued the card before you can use it to pay for services.

5. How do I pay with a money order?

You can pay with a money order. Your membership will not be upgraded until EquestrianSingles.com receives your money order check in the mail. To pay using a money order:

  1. Choose the premium membership option you want
  2. Mail a money order check to the EquestrianSingles.com:

    1. Make money order payable to EquestrianSingles.com
    2. Include your user name and email address you used to register with EquestrianSingles.com
    3. Include your selected membership plan
    4. Mail the money order to:

There are several premium membership pricing plans available.

If you are a registered standard member, you can click on the UPGRADE link from your profile page, and you will see the Premium Membership Price Plans.

7. How do the discounts work?

Purchasing a multiple month plan allows you to get a lower monthly rate by paying upfront instead of paying month-by-month by paying for those months in one lump sum up front.

When you choose a 3- or 6-month plan option, you get a discounted rate off the monthly membership fee. You must pay for all of those months in one lump sum at enrollment.

The discounted rate for 3 or 6 months is available only if you pay for the full 3 or 6 months at enrollment. We make this clear for you on the confirmation page and show you the total amount right above the confirmation button. If you only want to be billed monthly, you must pay the monthly rate.

There are many reasons why a payment comes back denied by your card issuer. The most common reasons are:

9. How does renewal work?

For your convenience and to avoid an interruption in communication with your matches, all subscription packages automatically renew at the end of the current subscription (unless cancelled before the renewal date) as agreed to during the purchase process. Rebilling will occur only when your current payment period expires and not before. However, often times your bank prepares the payment file three working days before the date of renewal, so if you discontinue your membership you must cancel your auto-renewal at least three days before the collection date.
