It is a Community Site
![]() | lol and yes I can personally attest, she is a darn good cook, I was really glad to have them as house guests, they were great, took care of things, did their own laundry, cooked and cleaned and played just like they were one of the family. Heck even had Ridinon and her son chasing armadillos thru the flower beds. They have brought their horses, we have had buggy rides, cookouts ,etc. Gosh I miss them. They even hauled down and came for the folks 50th anniversary. |
Thanks for the update on Ridinon, Fancy. I wondered why she left the site as she was a regular in the chatroom and had lots of friends on the site. When she was single, I remember when her house caught fire and how members from ES rallied to help her. Her friends from the chat room got together and got a Walmart gift card if I remember correctly. It was really the first time that people began to realize that ES was a community. I agree with what amagster said, as long as people are honest, others should not shun them because they are in a relationship or met someone and got married (like Ridinon and Black) who just want to stay in contact with their friends. LadyCutter and Curdawg are another example of members who remain in contact with their friends and are an inspiration to others. Ridion is missed by their friends, and I hope that she will feel comfortable again one day to come back to say hello. I am sorry to hear that is why she left ES... Heck think of all the great receipes we would have missed if she wasn't a member LOL. CGW
I guess you could say that this community is like any other, whether you meet a person at a club, a church, a bazaar or a garage sale. Take time to get to know the preson and find out if they indeed ARE what they say. The time you invest in a relationship will pay off in the long run if you dont jump into anything in a hurry. Those who do misrepresent themselves will show their hand before too long,,,, So do your homework and take responsibility for your own emotions........... Cindy
![]() | I understand "Baskhana" posting... I found out about this site due to the man I was dating was on this site looking for potential ladies to date... those ladies hadn't a clue he had been in a relationship for the past year... When you've been burnt this way, it does take awhile to open back up and trust this site and the people in it... I agree most of the folks that are ES members are wonderful people... It always takes just a few handful of dishonest people to ruin it for the ones that are in here for all the right reasons. I have no problem with anyone on this site, married, or not, as long as they can BE HONEST!!! Say in your profile that you are single and dating someone right now, but still looking... or engaged, married and wanting to have friends. I'm getting too old to play silly games. I thank and appreciate those that have "UPDATED" their profile. It warms my heart and I enjoy hearing about the ones that have found their "true love" here on this site... I wish you all the best!!! Thanks for this posting, as it helps in my understanding more of this particular site and my recovery of my painful lesson of the dating world. ~ Maggie ~ |
![]() | Hey ES members, I called and talked with Ridinon and Hotflasback last night. I told Ridinon that her last 2 topics of ES is a Community and the recipe exchange is still active. She was amazed. At the time, They felt like they were being harassed off the site by some members who were not married and resented them for being here and the friendships they made. So they just stopped coming on here. They are doing well and say hello to all their old ES friends. Black is out of the Navy now and is working at the ship yards. Ridinon lost her Dad last year, her Mom is doing well. The kids are almost grown and out of the nest. |
![]() | ES has had over 1000 marriages and if members wish to maintain friendships they have made on this site they are welcome. If you are new to the website, please read the Other Member News Category and topics like "horse accident" or "Tim962" to learn more about the community aspect of our website. Our message board is for "general" discussion, and ES has the right to remove any content at our sole discretion per our user agreement. Thanks |
![]() | Guess we must be careful as ever about who is or isn't 'available.' I was surpised to find some don't bother to indicate they are 'paired up' already but nothing is in their profile. It is not easy to get into the chat room but I also don't have time to sit and 'chat' as the process to find that special person to enjoy life with horses. What happened to Equestrian Friends? I joined here as it was called Equestrian Singles? Hoped to find that special guy who likes horses as well as being active in other aspects of life. Seems I need to rethink wanting to find that special guy who loves horses as they are definitely in scarce supply. Luckily for the guys, there are lots of women who love horses. Such is life. |
OH my...ok sorry..must have been that blonde streak...... *wink* How about them Budweiser Draft Horses :)
![]() | Rene, umm...do the math....that's two votes!! LOL |
![]() | Yes it is a community, ES, I have met a lot of people from here, some are friends and I love them lots, a very few others I would just as soon forget I ever met them. I have had Black and Ridinon both come to visit on several occasions, they are great people!! I hope those who drove them from this site are in some type of private purgatory and are no longer here themselves. Just beause someone gets married, or has made a committment to another doesn't mean they like their horses any less, should it mean that they should remove themsleves from here? Absolutely NOT. Does it mean they should not be here looking for riding buddies? NO it doesn't. Does it mean they should not post here looking for information about horse care? Heck no they should post. The narrow minded people on here should get their own site. For those of us who are genuinely interested in horses, and the people that love them, come on in. You will meet some good people here and a lot of them have great horse sense. Fancy/Amy |
