Today was a positive one... Gregory once again puckered his lips to indicate a kiss to his wife when she was saying goodbye. So it seems it was not a reflex, rather him taking a cognitive action.
My brother said that in order for Greg to stay in the hospital and be eligible for rehab, he will have to respond to more commands or he will have to be placed in a nursing home. Because he is not on respirator, and his vital signs are good, if he doesn't start responding to basic commands he will not be able to stay in the hospital, or be eligible for rehab. This sounds nuts to me after only 12 days...
I told him what Judy and David has said and that he should tell Gregory that he must start responding to commands, and to even lift his arm for him if necessary.
They also took an eeg of his brain activity and will have the results tomorrow.
Thanks for everyone's support and prayers...
I believe they are really making a difference.
Please continue to keep him in your prayers now more than ever... These next few days are crucial.

I said a prayer for you today,
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind.
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

I was telling David aka trainer last night about Greg.He said to keep talking to him and let him know that you are there. He told me that he remembers me talking to him and puting the headphones on him so he had things to listen to,even though he could not respond at the time he remembers this ,especially the CD that Glennh sent of the horses running etc.as a matter of fact when he woke up I ask him if he wanted to listen to the CD and he said no he had heard it a hundred times. So I know that the stimulation is good, because we never know just how much they are able to hear or understand but the stimulation of the senses is what counts.Always remain up beat when in the room with him ,I used to tell David what the horses were doing jokeing with him .I would read the things that the ES folks had said on the message board ,read the cards ,show him the cards ,put things on the wall that he would recgonize like family pictures etc.It is a lot of work on both sides but it will be worth it.David said that he sends his Prayers along with the other ES family members.David knows that God will answer your Prayers if you dont believe it just look at him.David also said to tell the family not to give up and keep the Faith.....Love Judy

Marcia,
I just read about Gregory. I am so sorry and my prayers and thoughts will continue to go out to Gregory for a full recovery. And to Lisa, You and all your family to keep up the strength for the support he will need to receive from you all. I know not only from watching the miracle with Trainer but also from the experience I went through with my sons accident that MIRACLES definitely happen. And with the power from the prayers we got from all of the wonderful people from here off ES I definitely know helped. It is so wonderful to see all the support everyone gives from here.
God Bless You,
Dawna.... "PLZ"

Thank you Judy for your experience, strength and hope... I just read your post to my brother and sister-in-law and it really helped...
And thank you to everyone who is praying so hard for Gregory. What Glenn and everyone else is saying is true, and we are not giving up hope...

Marcia,Please tell the family not to let this get them down,David was the same way at first,it takes time and constant talking to him about anything reading to him from medical journals showing him pictures now that they can be with him all the time that will help.David at times would look blank and not respond to commands but it will come it will take time, and im sure all the swelling and drugs are not out of his system and these patients feel like they are in a dream,so the dont respond like we want them to or how we think they should.Touching him when they tell him to do something make it very simple ie; hold up your hand dont say right or left just hold up a hand and help him if needed. It will all come together but be happy for even the smallest thing because those things will become big as time progresses.I will continue to Pray for you Greg and his family because I think things will start looking up...Love Judy

Greg,
Marcia's ES family is big, but not as big as Gods Love for You. I only know, that with Prayer, anything is possible with God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit. I pray Greg for Your complete recovery.
I will continue to Pray for You as will all the ES family & friends, as We have for David "Trainer".
God Bless You Greg & Your Family,

Today the report wasn't so good again.
They moved Gregory out of ICU because he is breathing on his own etc., but they are concerned by his lack of response to commands etc. The family appreciates and thanks everyone's continued prayers....
