Any idea how they would do in a high (4500 plus)dry climate?

They are AWESOME!! Cuts the population in half or more...especially when the neighbors cattle start hanging around...!! I figure for every fly that doesn't get hatched (the parasites lay their eggs in the fly pupae) thats about 1,000 flies that don't see 'life'!! Also keep some fly bait around for the ones that get to be 'all-grown-up'!! It's WAR!! LOL...

I wanted to bring this back up! I goofed up, and started my fly predators WAY LATE!! Since we have been in a severe drought in SE Texas... I thought I could get away without starting them in Feb. like I usually do.... I WAS WRONG! Them darn flies are just awefull! Drought or not!!! I should have my FIRST shipment of the year in my PO Box, Tuesday! I CANT WAIT!! These little bugers sure make a difference....drought or not!

Started my fly predators in Feb. this year, since the weather is so wishy washy. They seem to be working some (on a scale of 1-10, most likely a 6.5 to 7). The weather has been crazy, flooding in winter, now starting a dry summer. Went to some others' barns in the area, and DO notice a difference. They have LOTS more flys.

Just call the supplier they have records as to climates. Myself, I simply do the full season program with them and they know the weather and fly season well. Their only a phone call away and it is not just a one time program to be effective but certainly less expensive than alternatives. If you need their phone number let me know.

I started using fly predators in 2007, but I think I started using them too late. They did not start working well, until I also started feeding "Food Grade DE" to the horses. All of you in the south that have used them.... when do you decide is the right time. We have had unseasonably WARM temps (even for here)... and I am willing to give them a try once more. Hi y'all I've used the predators and the DE. They both work. Ya still gotta keep things clean and maintain wherever it is you put your manure. The DE works on ants too! Great in TX.
