Remembering - Frostbite -March 27, 2007

I became aware of ES back in 2003. I wonder what happened to some of the folks back then. I'm finding that we're losing a few. I just found out that montewalsh passed last month (March 29, 2025). I'm 71 now and still swingin' a leg over. Thought I'd join for a few months to see if anyone printed out or saved Monte's writing. He was prolific.

Remembering a very special man on this anniversary of his passing. Thank you, msfilly, for introducing Mark to me, and thank you to EquestrianSingles for providing this avenue for us to meet, as well as to meet SO many wonderful friends who have touched my life.

I am praying for you Holly.

A clarification: Mark and I met through msfilly in 2003 in the chatroom on ES. We married in 2004, and when he retired in 2006, we moved to the ranch here in Kansas. It was ten months after moving here that he died unexpectedly following surgery for a heart condition. We had almost 3 and 1/2 years together. The horse in the photo you used is still here at the ranch. She was Mark's pride and joy.♥

Thank you, so very much, for remembering Mark, again, on the Message Board. Truly, he was/is the love of my life and was my best friend; my dream come true, and I look forward to seeing him, again, when I get HOME. A joyous reunion it will be with him and with many wonderful brothers and sisters who have made the journey before me. I am reminded of the DASH Movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsY6UrFIsNs Mark made his DASH count by enjoying all of life with the excitement of a child; always curious and full of wonder, and laughter; always looking forward to the next adventure. Thank you for keeping his memory alive here where he enjoyed hundreds of meaningful and hilarious hours in chat with other ES members.

Mark and Holly's love story still remains in our hearts. One of the most beautiful and heartbreaking love stories during ES's 17 year history.

Glenn, How kind of you. Thank you for posting. As you have experienced in your life, LOVE NEVER FAILS . . . and something I know is that LOVE changes us, if we allow it . . . If we will be open to embracing Unconditional Love whether from people, animals, and especially from God, we find that our lives are touched and we are never the same. I have found that the greater joy comes, though, not from just receiving the love but from being able to spread it around . . . to be a conduit for the Love, and Mark was a conduit of that "Greater-Love-has-no-man-than-that-he-lay-down-his-life-for-another" kind of love -- It was God's Love in a human package. Not only would he have sacrificed his life to save mine, he lived his life for love. That's the way it should be in marriage . . . the way God created it to be, that a husband should love his wife just as Jesus loves all of us. If you keep in touch with Paige, Glenn, please give her my best. Lots of good memories . . .

Miss Holly, I Became aware of ES in April of 2003, when RanchGirl sent me an email. One of the first things I was able to do was pray, for ES members... Both for healing and for eternal happiness. I remember when You and Mark made Your announcement. I can not improve on the words that You have said. The only thing stronger than human love, is when our hearts are able to accept and understand God's love for us. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is Hard. God Bless You & All of Your Loved One's Glenn H

Thanks, chic . . . The Lord definitely used the love, as well as the loss, to help me in my understanding of death. I have a peace about death, now, that was missing before. Hope we get to meet sometime :)
