Remembering - Frostbite -March 27, 2007

I am in complete shock to hear this sad news.... Mark was one of the first ES members joining ES in August 2001 right when the website was first launched. He met Holly on ES and they were married and both have remained active and longtime members of the site. He told a friend of mine that these were the happiest years of his life... Everything people have posted about Mark says it all. He was a gentleman and a GREAT guy... It is like losing a family member when we have known someone for all these years. My thoughts and prayers are with Holly and family. Frost, I hope you and Tim are hanging out together and at peace.... You will be missed by those that knew and adored you... Dearest Holly, please let us know if there is anything we can do for you during this most difficult time.... Words cannot express my deepest sorrow for you... May God Bless and watch over you during this difficult time.... Marcia

Holly, I'm so very sorry, g/f. Please if you need ANYTHING, you make sure you give a call. I'm not that far away. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless, Breezy1

Holly....I will keep you and Mark's family in my prayers. May God bless and comfort you now. Judy

Holly I am so sorry to hear of this. I met Frosty at the same ES get together that jane did, he was so much fun. He was a blast in the room. Just remember only the good go young. aggie

Dearest Holly, I can not begin to tell you how saddened and shocked I was to hear the news of Mark's passing. Mark was one of the very first ES friends that I ever met in person, at an ES party in Nebraska, in June of 2003. I so enjoyed chatting with him all these years, late at night, when he would entertain us with his ongoing story of the goat! You both have been good friends to me over the years and I was so excited when the two of you met and went on to be an ES success story. Please know that my heart, tears and prayers go out to you and Mark's family at this time. If I can do anything, please let me know. Colorado is not that far from Kansas. Mark has joined the other ES friends that we have lost over the years and I know he is in good company in the "higher" chatroom now. Vickie aka Jane

Holly, My deepest sympathies to you and your family! May God bless you and keep you through this difficult time! Mona

I was shocked to receive the email below from Holly. I am posting this for all those who knew and loved Mark. He was really a special person. Holly, My heart goes out to you. Love Paige Today, I lost the love of my life, Markham Ross Mayfield. Mark was 55 years old. He had hopes that the heart surgery would help his quality of life. He wanted, so much, to enjoy his life here at the farm in Kansas . . . a dream that he had since he was a young man. Mark's system shut down this morning at 6:07 a.m. after a valiant fight and despite the help and caring of all the nurses and many specialists at Kansas Heart Hospital. Mark's gift to me and to those who knew him, was the ability to be genuine and to care about others. Mark was the most appreciative person I have ever known. He knew how to love without boundaries . . . and I am so thankful to have had him in my life. Tomorrow, here in Wellington, we are having a quiet viewing for the friends and neighbors we have gotten to know in our brief time together here at the farm. On Thursday, Mark's body will be flown to San Jose . . . . and on Friday, we will have a service at which time his friends and family are welcome to share stories and memories of his life. The service and funeral will be at Darling-Fisher Funeral Home in Los Gatos at 2:00 p.m. with the burial following at Los Gatos Memorial Cemetery on Los Gatos-Almaden Road. Folks are welcome to follow us to Mark's sister Sharee's home at 6689 Mt. Holly Drive in San Jose for a barbeque, one of Mark's favorite activities. If you want to bring a side dish to share you may do so, but it isn't necessary. Please just come and join us to celebrate the life of this wonderful friend, brother, uncle, and husband. Thank you for your support, prayers and encouragement during this time. I look forward to seeing you, and I know Mark will be there in spirit. Holly
