Jacquie, I am so very happy for you! Congratulations AGAIN! Sylvia

Oh Roy, thank you so much for your beautiful description of our special day! I had to laugh at the mention of the expectations of "funniest videos" because I am quite used to the misconceptions some people have about Arabian horses, and sometimes about women riding stallions. Little did people who attended realize, but we had both originally planned to ride in on horseback and that plan fell through. Ron's QH gelding gave us fits and couldn't be caught! It was quite a site as the bride was out in the pasture, just 45 minutes before walking down the aisle, fancy hairdo flying in the wind, makeup getting smeared from sweating, wearing cut offs and mud boots! And just as I had the rope almost around the gelding's neck, he wheeled and tried to kick me!!! (and yes, that horse & I are gonna have a few "come to Jesus" sessions as soon as I return from my honeymoon!) Yet the "crazy Arab" stallion was the one that stuck his nose in the halter, jumped into the trailer, allowed a stranger to saddle him, stood perfectly still while I stepped off the trailer fender in that long dress and poufy crinoline and rode quietly through traffic to the wedding site! LMAO I am glad you liked the ceremony. Ron and I did some research and wrote the ceremony ourselves, picked out all the music, made the decorations, and we tried to stay within the style of the time period of the old west as much as we could. The historical Tabernacle on the Square was the perfect setting for a rustic event, too. Other than marrying my best friend, the best part of my wedding day was hearing how much others enjoyed it, and being able to share that memory with good friends like you. Jacquie

What a wonderful Saturday afternoon!!! To be honest, I guess the videos from America's Funniest Videos forced me to expect the worst of a wedding which included the bride riding a horse...this was farthest from the truth!! The pleasant surprise of Jacquie turning the corner, riding her Arab stallion, the way the sun caught her gold wedding gown in a golden sunburst, the way her stallion was lifting his knees, his arched neck, flaring nostrils, and uplifted tail, was truly, an awe-inspiring sight. The scene as he "gave her away" to Ron, was sure to cause even a Townie to wonder at the connection between a horse and his rider. Then, as she walked toward the pavillion, and then down the aisle on Ron's arm, was just...gorgeous!! And the way different aspects were incorporated into a truly Western Wedding, were awe-inspiring! The inclusion of the Vaquero lasso ceremony, where a lasso, tied in a figure-8, representing the sign for infinity, is draped over each partner's neck; and the Apache Benediction, "Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to the other. Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no more loneliness for you, but there is only one life before you. Go now to your dwelling place, to enter into the days of your togetherness, and may your days be good, and long upon the earth." as a closing, truly made this a genuine, Western Wedding." Jacquie and Ron, I am genuinely honored and priviledged to have been invited to your wedding. Congratulations, and...Be Happy. Your Friend, Roy

Vicky, Sorry you can't make it to the wedding, I know how much fun you always have in TX! Good luck at the barrel races! For anyone that is coming to the wedding, or just needs an excuse to party in Fort Worth, LOL, we're all going to the Stagecoach for the after party that evening. There's a good band playing, $8.00 at the door. Come join us. Jacquie
