The good thing is.....most horses wont eat things that are bad for them.....unless they are very hungry.

Thanks for those links Topaz. Who would of thought that such garden staples as Yew, almost all fruit trees, Jasmine, daffodils, chrysanthemums were toxic to horses. I knew that Maples were bad, but it seems so are all Oaks!I grew up in AZ & already knew about Oleanders (FYI if they burn in a fire, the smoke is highly toxic). It appears that I will have to think all my choices through carefully. Thanks for the input!! Any & all gardeners please speak up with any personal experiences.

I know that Oleanders are a big NO NO..Very Poisionous!!! I bought about $200.00 worth of them, but luckily, someone saw them before I planted them, and let me know how poisionous they were. I was not going to plant them any where near the horses, but if one of them got out................... I also heard that Whisteria (sp) was very poisonous. Good Luck with your project.... and you are doing the right thing asking for opinions on ths subject.... You can never be too carefull!!!
