Hey everyone.. First chemo treatment was Thursday August 4th. Side effects have been very minimal. Trial and error on what foods taste goods and which ones don't. I thought my hair was falling out but I've decided it was a just a little shedding because it seems to have stopped. The prayers and thoughts from every one keep me going. My faith has increased tenfold. At a time in my life that should be the so called "worse", I have never felt so calm. God has me surrounded with His love and the love of so many people. Shadow... We think a lot alike. I already live my life exactly as you described it. Thank you everyone !!! ~Spots~

I'm sending you good thoughts and healing prayer requests to the Creator. As a nurse, I know, that chemo can make your appetite disappear, and everything tastes funny ... there's a cookbook, of sorts, that I've seen in the past, that tells you things that may taste ok, if not wonderful.. I would ask your oncologist about that..or your local cancer society. They may have it or know where to locate it. Keep your determination up... I am fully convinced from having watched patients over the years, that our mind helps with the outcomes of our health issues in many instances. Rest a lot, as we heal more while we are sleeping, and take vitamins and eat as organically healthy as you are able to do so. There are many sources online that show how to use food to promote optimal health. Most of all...LOVE yourself.. don't let stress get you down. Let argumental folks pass you by.. just ignore them. Pound a few of them.. (did I say that out loud?..OOPs.. maybe pillows, instead..LOL..) Just try and take life like a gentle flow of water. I think calm helps you heal.. listen to music you love.. Lean on God for He loves you... and, the prayer warriors of ES are right there with you. Praying their hearts out! Bless you!!!... Shadow....

Thought I'd give an update. Had a PET scan which showed 3 areas of "suspicion". They were thinking the cancer had spread to my bones BUT a followup bone scan showed they were just degenerative changes possibly due to trauma. Thank GOD for horse related injuries !!! LOL And Praise God for good outcome of the bone scan. I'll be starting chemotherapy August 4... five days before my 50th b-day. Happy Bald Birthday to me :-) At this point the oncologist is saying that I will receive a treatment every 3 weeks for a total of 6, then they will do radiation just to be safe. Should have everything completed by New Years. Thanks for the continued thoughts & prayers. Hugs & Love ~Spots~ Pam

Met with the oncologist this morning. Full day of tests tomorrow, including a PET scan. Then Monday the 18th I have a porta-cath placed so I can begin Chemo July 25. One day a week every two weeks for 8 treatments. Then will finish up with radiation. So looks like I'll be sporting a new hair do by the end of the month :-) Bald is beautiful, Right? Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers. I really do appreciate it... warms my heart. ~Spots~ Pam
