My family has a working cattle operation near Kremmling(about 150 miles to the west)...and us, like many are having just about the dryest year on record. But, we have room for some emergency animals if people need to move their animals. Keep in mind though, I need this to be from the fire ONLY, meaning true emergency animals...less than a month or two, while you figure everything else out and get a permanent plan in place. An emergency like this can really be destructive, and we've been there too, in '02 with fires that destroyed pasture ground of ours. Please contact me on ES and we'll get in motion as needed.

Below is a recent post from Colorado Horsecare Foodbank's Facebook Page. I will also refer Juliana to the posts in this thread. It's awesome that so many are able to help, especially Texas, since Colorado reached out to Texas last year with the drought! Thanks, guys! Colorado Horsecare Foodbank has just received word that there is a desperate need for hay to feed horses affected by the High Park fire. Some 400 horses have been evacuated (many because of heavy smoke at their home location) and Larimer County says that with that many animals they have only enough hay to last four days and have appealed to us for assistance. If you can donate hay or funds for purchase of hay or if you can help in transportation please contact Juliana Lehman at the Foodbank 303-670-6762. All donations are tax deductible. Every dollar will be used to purchase hay, 100%. Colorado Horsecare Foodbank c/o Juliana Lehman 5178 S. I have about 100 fenced acres in northern Wyoming that I would make available for horses affected by the wildfires. I also have a small rental cabin coming vacant July 1. Call Carole at (307)587-5656.

I live near Austin, I can house 3-4 horses, no stallions. I'm leasing 40 acres next door to my 15 acres. I would be willing to drive to North Tx to meet up with horse owner. Www.HeartsansHooves.org, 512-376-7667 text so I can get a ranch sitter.
