Hillsboro, TX Jacquie...
Just letting you know that I'm looking SO forward to this weekend and hoping it is a Huge success for Esta's family.
Good on you and Ron for opening your hearts and your home. Awesome. |
| Together with some local ES members & friends, Ron and I here at the Rafter C are inviting you to an ES reunion that will honor our longtime friend, Esta Sarringar/Paradiselady, as well as the other members we've lost recently. Esta had no insurance, and her funeral and burial costs will fall to the shoulders of her 3 children. We'd like to help with that. We'd also like to hold an informal memorial to honor the other members we've lost in the past few years.
FOR THOSE THAT LOVE MUSIC: This is also the same weekend as the RED STEGALL COWBOY GATHERING in the Stockyards, Ft. Worth, TX!!! Lots of fun times all 3 days and nights of this same weekend. So come to the benefit in the afternoon, and gather up your friends from this party and head to Cowtown for the Swing Festival the same evening if you like! It's only about 30 minutes from the Rafter C. More info: http://www.redsteagallcowboygathering.com/schedule.html
We will have an online benefit auction(in advance), as well as a live auction (for larger items too big or costly to ship) the day of the event. We'll have a BBQ dinner, collect a donation of $$ per plate, etc.... All money raised after the expense of the food will go into the fundraiser for Esta.
The Rafter C is located @ 8050 PRATHER RD. SPRINGTOWN, TX. 76082. My phone number is: 940-229-1592 in case you get lost, LOL. It’s about 30 minutes west of Ft. Worth, and about 5 or 6 miles SW of Springtown, TX. There are 3 different smaller towns within 20-30 minutes with hotel accommodations, in Weatherford, Azle and Decatur. Or, if people want to primitive camp here and arrive on Friday evening, that would be okay. (If you show up early, we'll put you to work helping, and if you're still here on Sunday morning, you can help clean up, too!)Bring your own lawn chairs and favorite adult beverage, and come enjoy the outdoors and life in the country with old friends and meet new ones!
WT/Wanda has agreed to be the head chef, and if y'all have ever attended these parties in the past, you know you're in for a feast! We will need your help to make this the best event possible. We need donations of items, gift certificates, or $$ for the auctions; helpers the day of the BBQ to keep things running smoothly, and someone to be in charge of the games. If you would like to contribute to help Esta's children and cannot attend, please consider donating an item for auction or send a check to my address.
When I get more time, I will post the hotel info, etc.... and we'll also start a list for people attending. PLEASE, if you say you are coming, PLEASE keep us informed if your plans change. Putting together this much food and supplies for a party this size takes $$$, and we don't want to waste it buying food for people that won't be showing up to eat it! The money we raise will be going to help one of our founding member’s family pay for their mother's funeral, that happened way too early in her life.
