Marcia, Yes, I agree, the memorial "service" part of the event will include all of the ones we've lost recently..... But the benefit auction part of the day will be for Esta's funeral expenses. I could use someone who's good at giving a meaningful message to work on what we'll say for the memorial part of the day. Volunteers? Jacquie

Marcia, That's a great idea, but it would be up to her children. All photos were copywrited, so they'd need to be released to us. I have no idea what her kids intend to do with her photo files and equipment, etc.... Is there someone familiar with these issues, as well as a long-time member(s) who'd recognize the who/what/when in all those pictures that will step up and take over this idea? I already have enough on my plate as the co-hostess and "general contractor" putting the event together. Another thought I had last night: If anyone has any old pictures taken at the past parties, get togethers, Vegas, etc.... please bring them with you to this event and we can all enjoy seeing them and sharing all those special memories together. I'm thinking there are several that are going to make for some very funny and interesting campfire stories, LMAO! Jacquie

Jacquie, I just had a great idea for a fundraiser for Esta. She was an amazing photographer so what if we put together a book of her photos (like a coffee table book) that can be sold to raise funds? I know I would love a copy of a book with her great photos. Maybe her kids can put together some photos and we can figure out the logistics. cocalamityJane and Joe Mike did a cook book for a fundraiser so maybe they have some ideas? Marcia

I've corresponded with Marcia/admin, and there are tentative plans in the works for an old-fashioned social gathering here in TX sometime in mid-October. It will be in the Ft. Worth area, and it will be a benefit to help pay for Esta/Paradislady's funeral expenses. An online auction will begin as soon as donated items are gathered, and there will also be a live auction at the BBQ/ES reunion. I will post a separate notice in the "get together/events" part of the message board when the date is set. We hope to see lots of old friends and make several new ones too! Jacquie

We are going to set up a special chat room memorial for Esta on Sunday night (8pm CST) where her old ES friends can gather and share stories. Esta was one of our original members and spent many a night in chat with Tim and the gang. Tammy Lee is helping to spread the word and will let her daughter know.
