Is there a better time of the year to ride up there....

You can buy the hay out there, expensive though. I even saw a trailer delivering to French Creek Campground

Hay Joe, sent you an email. I get up there to ride a lot, only 130 miles from my house here in NE. Iron Creek is a great horse camp to ride out of if you don't need a lot of facilities, French Creek is excellent, Broken Arrow horse camp is really fine, as well as Elk Haven, there are many more.

I have been there a few times and I like Frenchmen's Creek in side Custer. Do have to have certified weed free hay.

Custer park is where a lot of people I know camp and ride. Dan

Thinking of riding up around Mt. Rushmore this summer, anyone want to tag along. I have a spare horse if someone wants to trailer with me...if anyone has information on where to camp at up there, let me know... Joe
