Jen, Well said gf! Don't let those with a smaller brain give you trouble. Quite a few of us old ES members have run off and got married but we have way too many friends here to disappear! And, soon as Mark and I can get a weekend that he is home and I am able to ride again, we plan to go to a ride or event this summer. While I rarely go into chat...only when I see an old friend that I can't resist talking to, I've never had anyone say anything negative to me. And I wouldn't go to a gathering without Mark but I sure do plan to get to one as soon as we can....and hope to see you again! Maybe there needs to be a new site for the ES married folks????
![]() | Jen and Admin, occasionally we get some strange notes from people. None that have insulted us beyond repair but some that seem to think we are still here to meet other singles. Evelyn has her own profile, Jeannie2 and I have mine but we both have access to the others profile. We are very clear in both profiles that we are married and remaining members because of friendships made here. Admin, some we have received have questioned our motives but nothing we would want another member blocked for saying. We always politely respond and explain our reasons for being here. Glad your not just an equestrian matchmaking website. |
![]() | We have never been just an Equestrian Matchmaker website, we have always said more than Matchmaking from the first day we launched the site in 2001! We were one of the first websites to call ourselves an online community. An example of how important our married members are to our community, is how everyone rallied to support Holly after Mark passed away unexpectedly. Mark was one of our first members to join the site in 2001, and remained an active part of our community until he passed away. Any member who has a problem with married members remaining on our site should read the post under "Other member news" on Frostbite, or check out "member get togethers" and see how Rancher2 & Jeannie2 have opened their ranch to our members for some wonderful get togethers. This is and always will be an online community not just a singles site. There are numerous other sites that are just a "single site" -- though they may claim to be more. These copy cat sites usually have about 10-20 people online at the most. Our success speaks for itself. It comes from being a community of horse folks that support and care for one another. The number of marriages and success stories prove that. We welcome all members to be part of our community, single, attached, or married. Thanks, Admin |
I wanted to get this post back out into the front. Seems there are some on here who are sending e-mails saying some rather rude things that I and John (Aplover7) should not be members of this site as we are married. I would like to thank those who sent their well wishes to us through e-mails MMMMMMMMM Let me Think, Yes we will both remain members on this site.If it wasnt for this site we would have never met!! I have also been here since almost the beginning of this site! Along with that I have made life long friends here and I'm not giving that up either. Nor will I give up on going to the get togethers or the trailrides! Lemme check yep CutterJoe's ride at the end of the month and the Houston get together at the racetrack Kentucky Derby weekend, both are definitly on my scheldule!! Yall who want to bad mouth us married folk obviously have not been on this site very long. You will find out it is a-lot more than a "SINGLES" site. It is a fantastic equine community where lifelong friendships are made and the members are very caring and giving when one of "OURS" (es members) need help!! I myself felt the care of many of our members when I went through Hurricane Rita. So sit back, relax and learn what this site is really about!! Jen
WONDERFUL POST!! I had never see this before. In my book as long as you are honest, you are welcome here~ I had a friend that would harrass me about being on "that black box" all night. He just recenetly got a computer and prompty stayed up until 4:30 AM in a chat room and had a BLAST!! NOW he understands! This is WAY better than the "idot" box (tv), at least there is INTERACTION here. Sometimes it is booring, sometimes my sides hurt from lauging so hard!! I too have met some wonderful people on here and joined again, not to find love (gave up on that) but to find more great friends! Thanks ES, I think the message board keeps people involved as much as the chat room does. Keep up the good work!! WBR Lea
WOW... when I first started reading the first post I didn't check the date... then I saw Bens post.. I love this Bar...LMAO Paige..aka Ranchy P.S. Been really busy..hardly turn on the puter.. can't wait till it slows down
AMEN, ((((Renegade))))!!!!
I for one am very happy for the married folks on here, and believe they should be here. Shows this site works. Everyone has a goal in life, no matter what it may be. My belief is "before you say or do something to another person, step back and see how it feels to you". If it does not feel good, then don't do it. If we are a community then we should act like one. A community sticks together, helps others in need, and is supportive in many other ways. Ren
![]() | When I was dating a guy, my profile picture was of us, it stated friendship, and I wrote it in my profile as well. I even responded that I had a boyfriend to one person that had emailed me, only to have him say I was missing out by not talking to him. Sometimes, you just can't win and you have to shake it off and go on. George and Evelyn have been a big part of doing get togethers for us and inviting us to their home. I would be really upset if they felt they had to leave simply because they found each other and got married. |
