I do not mind praying for those that are need. Does not matter if they are members or not. Just think if this were 100 years ago, we would be just be getting the news about the southeast asian disaster. God Bless all those In need this date, Horse owners and all. Glennh

Thanks for the website post petnurse.

I am a veterinary technician on the "small animal side". I visited a veterinary technician website to see what was being done for animals with the flooding etc. and a website was recommended by the techs call Noah's Wish. I am not soliciting donations for them, I thought it was a decent website to visit if anyone is interested in volunteering or whatever...There is a large animal vet tech who works for the University of California at Davis, in the large animal ICU. I think coordinates the relief efforts for horses. The website is www.noahswish.org. Petnurse

I have been in contact with several members from CA and making calls to friends... You are right ocean, it should have been posted here. But no CA member posted anything until you, and that is how it usually works... I lived in CA for 18 years and was very concerned... I signed up for the Red Cross Stike Team to be of service in times like this... Just because it wasn't posted doesn't mean members don't care... Thanks for starting the topic... CGW

The following scripture comes to mind. Luke 11/9 through 10 "And I say unto you,Ask and it shall be given to you:seek and you shall find :knock and it shall be opened to you. For ever one that asks, recieves , and he that seeks, finds, and to those that knock it shall be opened." Washy

I agree with the above posts , there have been natural disaster all over this yr, people dont know of needs unless they are reported to us. My prayers also go out to the folks who have lost love ones and or there homes in california. My personal life has saddness in it also, a friend I met here has breast cancer, and is really suffering so my attention has been there , but also have room for a prayer for anyone that asks, Washy

You and yours are not forgotten Ocean..It has been rather overwhelming lately with all the natural disasters lately...My heart ,thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Southern California. We here on the east coast are pulling for you all as I am sure everyone else is. Whenever I read the paper, I have to put it down. So much heartbreak out there.. With much prayer, Petnurse

amen gink,,,if we post prayers to every tragidy on here,,the board will B overwhelmed with posts, I was told that this was for members notices, read the little notice above all the topics on MB, says"equine related ONLY", not for all the other worldly affairs, heck, while were at it, how bout the ppl in central America W/O power due to ice storms, the ppl that sat on I65 for 2 days stranded in thier vehicles w/o provisions, along with the ones here that also have thier homes under water. Where does it end?????? Not that Im cold hearted, but I for one am tired of reading all the prayer requests for every tragedy in this world, I get enought reading the newspaper. can we please keep it to our members such as trainer, ppl that we can relate to and have become to know and have a relationship with!

To respond to you Ocean, the news that California was so devastated has been downplayed in the media, as have many other natural disasters that have ocurred in the U.S. since the tsunami disaster. The heartland of the country has experienced major ice storms, and flooding in conjunction with the California flooding. The memories of this last hurricane season still are with us, many folks still don't have their homes back. Many parts of the world are experiencing major problems with natural disasters, including famine. If you all need help out there, the rest of us don't know it if you don't let us know.
