Some basic rules:
Don't cut off the sole or frog area but trim away loose pieces.. ie like hang nails.
Mostly use file unless the toes are really long.
Don't cut off the heals, horse usually wears it down enough. Watch for 'hangnails' and trim them off.

Abilene, TX Awhile back I read an artical about letting your horses go bare foot. Having six horses and the price of a good farrier,when you can fined one,mayed the idea real interesting. I got to talk to one ol boy about it and then had some problems come up and lost the info. If any one can help would appreciate it a lot. Buck |
