Cedar Hill, TX I must say the chatroom will never be the same without Dakota. She was one of the first people I met on ES and my first thoughts were "she's a salty little thing." Dakota truly cared for each of us and was always there to lend an ear or make you laugh. As her aunt said in her e-mail, ES was Dakota's world, but I hope Dakota realized how much a part of our world she was.
I've delayed posting for several days to let the realization sink in that Dakota won't be in chat any more on those nights when I just can't sleep and want or need someone to talk to. She will be greatly missed.
I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, but felt I knew her well.
To her family, I offer my deepest condolences and say thank you for sharing a part of her with us. May God bring you peace and comfort in knowing she is now in a better place.
God bless,
Kim

East Wenatchee, WA I was so shocked to hear of Dakota's death. Life can be so difficult and unfair, leaving us with more questions than answers. The loss of a loved one means the job of grieving is given to those of us left behind. It reminds me of a song by Diamond Rio... Their chorus line is this:
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are left to carry on
And all the angels up in Heaven
They're not grieving because they're gone
There's a smile on their faces
'Cause they're in a better place
God only cries for the living
'Cause it's the living that are so far from home
Yeah, we're so far from home,
My heart goes out to Dakota's family, may God give you peace and strength during this difficult time...
In closing one last phrase that has helped me during difficult times.... "Joy is not the
absence of sorrow, but the presence of God"
