My oldest gelding is Copper..when I got him as a 3 year old he shined like a new penny...and the youner one is Smooth Poco Doc or Poco...he's my daughter's old barrel horse, retired now. So mom gets to take care of him until she gets on her feet. :)

Adding a new one to our "herd". Welcome to Docs Rocking Peppy, but Steve called him "Mow", as in lawnmower..LOL. Think we'll change the spelling a bit to make him a bit more dignified. So now Moe joins Willie and Charlie, as Brian's new roping horse and my SHOT and ACTHA horse. Annie & Brian

Years ago when Paints were just getting popular, I purchased a mare thru a sale by the lb. I wound up paying .79 per lb.for a 1200 lb. overo mare( you have to remember this was a long time ago, and that was a premium price), I took her home, the next thing was to get her papered, well we did know her bloodlines but could not find the man to get paper work signed, the next thing we knew the man had died and APHA would not accept documents from the brother. So I had an unknown mare, I named her "Illicit Affair", I knew the dams name but not the stallion!

Hmmm, cool question, but just a few of horses that we had: Puzzle (Paint), Moses (Qtr), Tequila (Qtr that we bought from a Mexican rancher- she was a awesome horse!), Ruby (Red roan looking), Sancho (Mom is Ruby), Goldie (Palomino- she was our first Palo, and thats how I fell in love with them), Hollywood (TB- fastest roping horse that we ever had. lol), and Bucky (Buckskin). Just to name a few.

My horses were already registered when I bought them, so I didn't get to name them myself. But I have Redneck Hillbilly - I just call him "Red" and get a lot of people thinking I'm crazy because he is not a red horse, he is a dark bay & white tobiano paint. My other horse is Smokey Rocket Jet, but his barn name was Whiskey when I bought him and I liked it, so I still call him Whiskey. He is a buckskin tobiano paint

Well since my last post on this subject I have a new mare named Babala...she is a 13 year old rescued thoroughbred mare...she has produced 3 winners from 4 foals with 2 of them being stakes winners on the racetrack...but that was back a few years...when I picked her up she was just bones and hide with 3 feet in the grave and the other on a banana peal...thanks to a lot of TLC she has put on some much needed weight...she will be bred in the spring and hopefully have me a future racehorse or riding horse for she will always have a home with me.

I swapped for a horse registered Grays San Man and after using all my creative mental abilities, I came up with the name, San Man. Hows that for a really good story.
