just have a new addition to my horse family, m little dutchwarm filly is two months as of today, her name is Evanescence, first because it had to start with the letter E and secondly because she is now a sorrel filly, but will soon become a grey, the meaning of evanescence is to fade....I loved the name.

TEAMO... (sounds like Tee ah mo) means I love you in Spanish. TEAMO is the black horse pictured in my profile. He was a wild mustang, captured in Utah at two years of age. I was riding him two weeks after we captured him. He took me safely into the Grand Canyon, in parades on the Strip in Las Vegas, the mountains of Utah, the desert of Nevada and to traverse the Applatian trail in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Georgia. I had him 27 years until he died of heart failure at the age of 29. Many of my most cherished memories were made with that horse.

i have a new horse called Gunsmoke because he is the color of a gun barrel gray,he's 4 years old and i had him gelded a couple of days ago, but it hasn't slowed him down.

My buckskin mare's registered name is Reflection of Spirit, out of Dun Up Reflection. The prior owners called her Betty. I thought Betty was a little to plain, I usually dont change a horses ranch name, so I call her BettyBoop. Its funny who you run into, coincidentally, the people who I bought her from is the Director of Equestrian Nation on RFD-TV and owners of the MikMar Bit Company. They used BettyBoop in a commercial for Alamo Saddlery.

I have two right now...not from the same lines and one is APHA and one is AQHA... Harlans Spooky Dude (my baby) because he has such a Big Guy heart his barn name is Biggs. AQHA Skipper Tuff Dude(daughters baby)He is a handsome guy and KNOWS it, his barn name is Ace. APHA Horse names always just kind of evolve for me as I get to know them as colts...I have never "named" one (other than the reg name)they always just kinda "happen".

....great topic, just love to hear registered names and barn names! My guy is an off-track Thoroughbred and his Jockey Club name is Class Always Shows but I call him Valentino or Valie and that depends on his mood and my mood too!

Kim's Extra Judybob, "Judybob", her dam was Lady Kimberlite, and her sire was Extra Cash.

Well, I named my paint stallion Francis Scotch Key...after the man Francis Scott Key who wrote "The Star Spangle Banner". I named him that because I wanted to name him after someone famous and because his sire is Scotch bar Tommy....I thought the two names worked well together. He has several barn names...Scottie, Scottman and Muffin(after stud muffin) to name a few. He's been called other names of which I can't mention here...LOL. Of course to go along with the name we have the whole red, white and blue....stars and stripes theme. Actually the inside of my LQ horse trailer is decorated in stars and stripes. My 4 yr old solid paint mares name is Vested Gold. I did not name her...but she is by Zippos Old Gold and she goes back to the Investor on her mommas' side. Her barn name is Puddin cause she looks like she's never missed a meal(especially pudding)..LOL. My 15 yr old paint mares name is Stormy Dumpling...I didn't name her either...she goes back to Yellow Mount..and her barn name is Stormy...boring I know...not much of a story behind her.
