It was with a heavy heart that I read about Neil. He was such a dear friend to me, we spent many hours on the telephone cussing and discussing important as well as those not so important issues in life.
Neil was a true friend to those who were able to call him that. He loved the King Ranch, his King ranch horses and cattle as well as the history of the King Ranch. He was a devoted uncle to his only nephew and a true Texas Longhorn fan, even though I told him orange was not his color. Neil sent me dvd's of his family's bucking bull, Tiltawhirl, now named Big Tex. He never got to go to PBR in Vegas this year to see him buck and sell, but was as proud of the bull's success as if it were his own.
Neil never asked for help but he was the first person to offer a helping hand to others. Even as his illness progressed, Neil had his sense of humor.
Neil you will be sadly missed by all of us whom you called friend. Ride beyond the great divide, until we meet again, my friend!
