My best first date turned out to not be a date at all, but the meeting of someone that became my best friend.

I enjoyed reading about your "best" first dates and began a search in my mind of my "best" first date. I found it tucked away in my mind labeled as "The road to hell, via Heaven" This date took place on a exceptionally hot day in August in a small Arkansas town. It was the result of two months of chatting on yahoo messenger. It began innocently enough but progressed slowly into a torrid affair. She was beautiful, her eyes sparkled like black diamonds, her makeup was flawless, her skin was soft and her lips full, she wore a peach colored outfit, modest yet revealing, a mane of hair that was so beautiful I couldn't stop stareing. We met at a restaurant but never went inside, so many questions, so little time, we sat in my Tahoe and talked about anything and everything, no subject was taboo. Whether I said it out loud or thought it, the words went through my mind, for every ounce of pleasure I will pay with a pound of agony....I miscalculated that, the price was much higher. Would I change that meeting if possible, no, I wouldn't, only the outcome....

I'm still waiting for the BEST date of any kind, they have all been good because I choose to see them that way. I am hopefull that the BEST is still to come.

Great topic Hcrazy... After some thought...it occurred to me that not only was HE my Best 1st Date, at the same time the Best Blind Date and appropriately a NET-based Dating connection. This same cowboy also gets credit for my 1st Moonlit Ride, 1st Branding, Best Xmas Morning and several other 1st/Bests :). It was a Charity Stallion Auction in a very Western town. He was even more attractive than his photo ladies comfortably dressed in dark starched & creased jeans, buckaroo boots, light colored Stetson and Western sport coat. Most striking were his soft grey eyes, peaches & cream complexion, that strawberry blond mustache and shy smile. We chatted about his unusual job, Quarter horse bloodlines and good mares. To my surprise and delight he purchased a Stallion service for me, the young Qpony stallion is still with me today (one on the left). What we ate or drank is lost, but those sweet kisses I've committed to memory.

My best first date was a day trip to Sedona. It was so beautiful. We had lunch, did a little shopping, and had a pretty good time. It was a lovely afternoon, and a great first date. However, I did make one mistake. I kept telling him where to park. That didn't go over so well, so I guess you could could say it was my last, best first date. LOL.

I would love to hear about everyone's "best first date." My best first date took place in Fredericksberg, Texas just before Christmas. The entire town was decorated with white crystal lights making it appear like a magical fairyland. We had dinner at a nice restaurant and really hit it off. He was the real deal. A rancher, handsome, classy and very funny. We ended up kissing in his pickup truck which was parked right in front of a Christmas Light display in the town square. The whole evening was pretty magical. And although it eventually didn't work out, it was one of the best first dates ever, and one that I will always remember. I've learned to enjoy meeting people and no longer worry about if they are "the one." Been on some dates, met some good people, but so far, nothing has compared to that best first date. Would love to hear your story. Amy
